How to Create a Lead Magnet using Grocers List + Kit

This guide will show you how to create professional recipe PDFs in Grocer's List and automatically deliver them to subscribers using Kit's email automation.

What is a lead magnet? 🧲

A lead magnet is a valuable free resource (like a meal plan, recipe collection, or guide) that you offer to your audience in exchange for their email address. It's one of the most effective ways to grow your email list.

Step 1: How to Create a Lead Magnet in Grocer's List

Did you know you can auto-generate PDFs in Grocer's List using our Meal Plans feature? Create meal plans, menus and recipe round-up PDFs in minutes.

To create your PDF:

  1. Login to Grocer's List.

  2. Navigate to Meal Plans and click Create Meal Plan

  3. Add recipes by entering the URLs for the recipes you want included.

  4. Generate PDF by clicking the green button.

  5. Download your PDF by clicking the Download button under the PDF.

What's included in your PDF:

  • Your logo (optional)

  • Title of the resource

  • Recipe links with images

Step 2: How to Create an Email Opt-in in Kit

Now you'll create a landing page where visitors can subscribe to receive your lead magnet.

To set up your landing page:

  1. Login to Kit

  2. Go to Grow > Landing Pages & Forms.

  3. Click Create new

  4. Select Landing Page

  5. Choose a template that matches your style

  6. Customize your landing page in the builder

  7. Add an email address form field

  8. Hit Publish when you're satisfied with the design.

Step 3: Automate the delivery of the lead magnet in Kit

Set up automatic delivery so subscribers receive your PDF immediately after signing up.

To enable automatic delivery:

  1. Open your landing page in Kit

  2. Find the Incentive section (this is your confirmation email)

  3. Go to Advanced settings

  4. Under "After confirming redirect to", select Download

  5. Upload your lead magnet PDF from Grocer's List

  6. Hit Save

What happens next: When someone subscribes, they'll automatically receive an email with your PDF.

Step 4: Promote Your Lead Magnet on Social Media

Connect your lead magnet to your social media strategy using Grocer's List's Comment for DM feature.

To set up your DM:

  1. Login to Grocer's List

  2. Go to Comment for DM: Posts & Reels
